SIT Social Update

Updated: Apr 1

Thank you for supporting our small business!

This has been a very difficult time for so many of our beloved clients and pups and our hearts go out to anyone who is experiencing a loss of income, ill health, trauma response, or loss of loved ones during this pandemic.

As a local, small business, we are so grateful for the support you have shown us. We wanted to share a few quick and important updates for April. Please take a few minutes to read on.

SIT Social: A Dog Lounge Chicago

Starting April 6th until further notice, we are shortening our M-F Daycare operation hours to 9am-5pm until things get back to a more normal rhythm in the city of Chicago. We have unfortunately suffered great financial losses during this pandemic as we know many of you have also - and we are doing the best we can to sustain our staff and daily operations thanks to your support.

Like so many small businesses, this pandemic has created a financial deficit for us and, transparently, we are struggling to stay afloat. We have applied for government aid through the CARES act - unfortunately we are unsure when, if, or how that will be disbursed as they are still figuring it out. In the meantime, we are trying to hang in there like many of you! We want to be here for you and your pups throughout this chaotic time and are thankful we can offer a bit of routine to an otherwise out of control scenario. We hope to still be here for you when you are ready/need care and once this is all over.

If you are looking for a way to support us during this time, we have 4 different ways you can help support us to stay afloat through this crisis and one of them requires no money:

We have created a special offer package of $325 for 10 full days of daycare. These 10 credits will be usable any time between May 1, 2020 through July 31, 2020. We are only selling to the first ten people who book these through Monday April 6th and then they will no longer be available for purchase.

We are offering this one time special package with a 3 month window of use (that's 3 times the normal expiration!) so that you might drop in as needed during this difficult and uncertain time. This package is usable beginning May 1, 2020 for full day credits - this package includes 10 visits for $325 usable anytime throughout the months of May, June, or July (That's just $32.50 per visit!) But, hurry as we are only offering ten of these packages, and they won't be available for purchase after Monday April 6, 2020.

Purchase a dog birthday party or space rental for future use. Rent the space for a doggie meetup group, host a yappy hour with your co workers, or donate it to host a rescue event!

We know that many of you have lost your incomes. If you're looking for a way to support us right now that does not involve money - please leave us a review with a photo from your pupdate on Google. Share our information on social media with anyone you know who lives in our area and may need help with their pup at this time especially the amazing health care workers who are working non stop hours to save lives.

Email us at to purchase credits for future use or purchase your usual daycare package for future use, and we will freeze your credits until you are ready to return/use them.

Thank you for considering one of the above options to support us during this time!

We have been grateful to remain open during this awful time as we are still an essential service for many of our clients who are still going to work at various professions and also cannot be distracted by their dog while working from home. Also, because our business is so small and we do not have groups of people convening we are not perpetuating massive spread risk. We also use heavy disinfectant all over the space throughout the day and have very limited contact with our customers- only at drop off/pickup which is similar to the individual contact happening through buying groceries or getting food delivery/mail delivery which is still permitted. There is no evidence that COVID-19 can be spread through animals and many of our clients have continued to come to daycare and remain safe and healthy. If you are keeping your dog home due to fear of spreading or contracting the virus, please feel free to contact us directly and we can discuss additional safety measures we are able to provide for your peace of mind. We have the option for you to do dropoff/pickup with no contact and by keeping your leash/collar.

And lastly - we also hope all of you watch "Tiger King" on Netflix if you haven't already - it definitely has made things a bit more bearable and we can't wait to see all of your Joe Exotic costumes come Howloween time. Please feel free to email us any hilarious Tiger King memes. A little lightness is welcome in this tough time.

Stay safe and happy,

Victoria & Joe
