Breed Bio: Pugs

Pugs are one of the earliest known breeds and have been around since as early as 400 BCE, but was officially recognized by the AKC in 1885. They were brought from China to Europe in the 16th century, and later became a passion of Queen Victoria in the 19th century.

There are two recognized colors for the pug: black and fawn. Their breed is characterised by a wrinlky, short face muzzle, and curly tail. With a glossy fine coat, the breed is compact with a square body and consistently black ears.

Usually pugs are strong willed, but rarely are they aggressive. Their bouncy and inquisitive nature makes them a great fit for households with children and is well balanced with quiet and docile moments according to their owners moods.
